Mental Health of Refugees
AWWG in partnership with five Refugee Women’s Organisations have developed a network of effective, relevant and integrated health and support services for refugee women in London to enable them to improve their mental health and general well-being. This project not only seeks to support services for refugee women which meet their identified needs, it also facilitates access to mainstream health and social care servicesincluding counselling support.
Improving Women's Health through the African and Refugee Women's Well-Being and Empowerment Project
Our aim is to:
- Raise awareness of �mental health� problems in the African and refugee communities on issues such as anxiety, isolation, depression etc.
- Promote the �mental health�, stability and holistic well-being of African and refugee women.
- Provide community education through culturally sensitive workshops, seminars and training. Offer social and emotional support.
- Offer social and emotional support.
- Offer advice & guidance in a culturally sensitive environment.
