Fighting Extremism
Project Initiative
African Women's Welfare Group (AWWG) Fighting Extremism project has been set up to:
- Encourage access to information and resources to make informed decision.
- Encourage interfiath dialogues through visits and workshops to promote religious tolerance and respect
- Facilitate discussion groups, community consultation, involvement and participation.
- Advocate and educate young adults through workshops.
- Run monthly lectures in partnership with WAMA on Islam and best practices of Islam to communities, voluntary and statutory organisations to foster understanding, dialogue, tolerance and cooperation
- Encourage access to local services e.g. libraries and health centres for wellbeing.
- Develop a culture of volunteering among the youth for a chosen cause.
- To provide reasonable means for young people in the community to interact with people from different back-grounds and build positive relations.
- Provide training for community members to contribute to society.
- Develop culturally appropriate resources.
